Our Story
The funny thing is I had known who Danny was all throughout college, but our paths never crossed too much. It all started because of our mutual friends Andrea & Jake. Through helping them plan a wedding during a pandemic, I started seeing a lot more of this Danny guy.
A random camping trip at the end of May (2020) is truly what shifted everything for me. Something about being delusional in 100 degree weather with your friends really helps you get to know a person.
Now for my side of the story. I've known about Maddie since freshmen year of college. Going to a smaller private Christian school (shout out CBU), you feel like you know everyone. I would say we were always one degree too far from each other. So many of our memories of college are similar as well as of our friends, just from a different perspective. Missed each other by inches.
Post graduation we crossed paths again while being apart of my friend Jake and Maddie's friend Andrea's bridal party. One of the first time we hung out was to make a cornhole set. I wanted to make one, but I knew I was limited by my painting ability. That's where Maddie came in.
I saw Danny differently than I ever had before, and remember thinking “I hope I get to hangout with him more”. That began a summer of lots of side projects, yummy food, family time, drives and singing way too loud in the car. I quickly learned what a hardworking, intentional, dynamic, fun and loving human he was. We feel like God was so present in our timing and preparing us for each other. Fast forward to now, and he is my absolute best friend and partner. We cannot wait to start our lives together celebrating with our favorite people! :)
That was the first time I can remember Maddie filled in a gap I couldn't, even if she misspelled Shearer :) . That started the cycle of God showing me that Maddie was truly my perfect partner, the helper I didn't want to admit I needed. Queue the romantic love song. Now, fast forward a ton of food dates, family hangouts, a few Covid quarantines, some sad moments, a ton of happy moments, a lot of growing, and some more food dates we are here.
Thank you for joining us in the start to a new chapter for Maddie and I. We ask that you keep us in your prayers, oh and that you have a great time on our big day
